Quell Wearable Pain Relief

Quell Wearable Pain Relief

In today’s fast pacing world, we incur a lot of injuries while trying to keep up with the world around us. Some injuries heal sooner and some lasts longer. Taking pain relief medicine always helps and does the job but always comes at a cost which will injure our body internally. What if we told you that you can kick those pain medicines away? You read right, at the CES 2015, a new gadget was kicked off named Quell which promises to relieve you from pain and other ailments.
Quell promises pain relief externally. You attach the unit to your calf. The makers consider it as virtual USB port and the electrodes stimulate the person wearing the gadget to release opiates which helps in pain relief. The sensory nerve that gets stimulated sends neural pulses to the brain that releases Endogenous Opioid. It is the pain relief response which blocks pain signals in the spine. This process is called as Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation also knows as TENS.
Quell is much expensive compared to its competitors but NeuroMetrix which is a health care company involved in developing wearable medical tech is hoping insurance companies to pick up the cost which the only reason why they went through several extensive processes to get it FDA Approved. Quell lasts over 40 hours with a single charge and is designed to be used for 24 hours. During Sleeping hours, it reduces it power consumption by 80%. It is thin which makes it easier to be worn under clothes and attaches to the calf with a sports band. It comes with an app and costs around $250 and with an additional monthly cost of $30 per month for replacing the electrode strips. Quell also has a 60 day money back guarantee.
